Empirically Validated Treatments (EVT’s) are techniques used by clinicians during counseling sessions (for example Parent Child Interaction Therapy) that have been found scientifically beneficial to clients. These treatment approaches have met stringent scientific criteria through more than one team or study. The results of these approaches were measured by objective data and therefore found highly helpful in treating emotional problems.
At CFCCC we desire to use EVT’s for many of our therapeutic approaches. The EVT therapies currently used in our practice include but are not limited to: Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT).
