Families

CFCCC believes families are central to the wellbeing of not only your children but you as the caregiver.  Whether you are a single mother or father, grandparent, or parents or caregivers of a recent adoption we believe in working collaboratively in helping you learn skills to live together more peaceably.  Interestingly, parents and caregivers often react in patterns reflective in the ways they were taught.  Rules are often unspoken, but they instruct our behavior whether we are aware of them or not.  Working within a Family Systems approach it is our desire to highlight more effective ways of communicating.

Parents often complain of feeling they are going in circles.  It is the job of the clinician to demonstrate and educate the family on becoming aware of patterns and rules that are ineffective and therefore causing us to feel stuck.  Working together and becoming aware of how our behavior and attitudes can affect each other builds a stronger family unit by each person taking responsibility for their part in the temperament of the household.  This process may cause a family to feel vulnerable.  This is why CFCCC is intentional about being a respecter of all persons.  As licensed counselors we humbly desire to work with you because we are for you.
